Edwardian Splendour, Ballsbridge

Set in the leafy, upmarket neighbourhood of Dublin’s Ballsbridge, the renovation of a five-bed, Edwardian red-brick property is a delicate exercise in retaining the outstanding original period features, while modernising the house into a beautiful contemporary, comfortable home for the future.
The renovation and large extension to the existing historical house runs to 295 square meters and our brief was to complete the project to a “turn-key” finish, with a classic contemporary design, embracing the old and new for an exceptional family home.
Given its location in an area renowned for Victorian era houses, our work on this complex residential project channelled design approaches used on international best-in-class Graded work.
The impressive red-brick exterior, with all the delights of Georgian revival architecture like heritage sash windows, a timber framed porch and ornate decorative detailing is beautiful. Features continue inside, with original floor tiles and stained glass, as well as large rooms with high ceilings. Juxtapose a contemporary, large open plan extension to its rear, flooding the home with light and adding space.
Our client’s impeccable taste is carried across our design work, creating a luxurious feel with a very neutral palette throughout the entire home. An elegant scheme of bright, white shades keeps every room light and airy, with accented tones employed for character and charm.
We devised and delivered on concepts for every room, carrying a consistent theme into the open plan areas, bedrooms and all bathrooms. The elegant kitchen was bought to fruition by experts Newcastle Design, while our Ventura team design and installed all other joinery.
Our planning and production work including the fulfilment of all flooring, wall and ceiling decoration, joinery, lighting, window treatments, furniture, rugs and loose home décor. Our team of stylists finished all rooms with artwork, accessories and luxurious soft furnishings.
