A dream home for our clients is a dream job for us. And we even managed to fulfil another of our dream with the opportunity to remodel and renovate a private penthouse residence in Dublin's historical Georgian city centre. In bringing our A-game, we enhanced this home with our signature classic contemporary elegance, appealing to the style of its esteemed homeowners.
The luxury, two-bedroom duplex apartment, arranged over 2,500 square feet, sits as the Penthouse of one of Ireland's most prestigious five-star hotels. With private elevator access, the owners have access to many of the hotel's exclusive facilities like the indoor swimming pool, the Tethra spa, gym and cocktail bar, so we focused our work on creating an interior which offered a sophisticated retreat, to unwind, relax, entertain and rest, above the hustle and bustle of the hotel, Dublin's beautiful Stephens Green Park, and exclusive shopping district.
The apartment has been configured to maximise the amount of natural light and space. Given the prestigious nature of the locality and the celebrated history of the building, we ensured our designs were the embodiment of timeless style, and our clients appreciated the approach. With their support, we could give immaculate attention to quality, showcasing local craftsmanship and artwork.
The Penthouse has many beautiful, architectural aspects, that most charming characteristic of Georgian buildings. We modernised the floors throughout, the wall coverings and all window treatments to compliment these original features. In layering colours and fabrics, we introduced a subtle palette of neutral tones, reflecting the owner's personal taste whilst emphasising the sophisticated heritage of the surrounding city streets.
The large hallway and open plan kitchen living dining area have been updated with refined decorative wall panelling, bespoke lighting and custom furniture, all made to order. The casual, comfortable sitting room acts as much as a cinema room, as a family lounge and is a relaxed contrast to the Living Room. The two substantial bedrooms are decorated with comfort and rest in mind. Smart finished and valuable joinery provides for storage, work stations and media units, in a contemporary, elegant way.
We completed this work as a turn-key renovation project, under the watchful eye of the owner clients and hotel management. We showcased our signature classic contemporary design aesthetic in a building very worthy of it and vica versa. This is an elegance in keeping with the style of this highly sought-after area in the heart of Dublin City.
