There is a touch of colonial architecture to the exterior of this luxury residence. The curved windows and arched doorways with a slim dark frame, coupled with a bright exterior paint colour, iron railed balconies, and the low-pitched roof, this home would easily sit behind the palm trees on LA’s Sunset Boulevard.
The design direction, for outside and inside, was inspired by the local area, the site, the dream and the client’s interests and lifestyle. Working with the clients and their architects from the early design stages, we were able to ensure that the client’s needs were met with beauty, quality and sustainability, creating an elevated quality of life for this family. Each detail, element and material were considered and is a personal touch for these homeowners.
We provided input on external architecture decisions, landscaping, and interior architecture, to ensure consistency of design concept throughout all aspects of the build. We used a signature classic-style, using neutral schemes, bespoke joinery, contemporary furnishing, and luxury finishes, which complement the architectural style. It was a pleasure to fulfil this project to a turn-key finish, complete with luxe room dressing by our team of in-house stylists.
As you enter through the double front doors, you step out into the large, elegant hallway with a sweeping signature staircase under a huge glass chandelier. Showcase coving, contemporary wall panelling, a play with feature lighting, and polished finishes, create a beautiful, warm welcome in this room, a nod to the timeless sophistication which is carried through every part of the home.
A calming colour palette of neutral tones is used throughout the residence. Veined marble, light blues, greys and creams in velvet and wool are complemented by deep blue hues, dark wood tones and bronze detailing. The warm metallic features on the joinery, staircase and cabinets add a sophisticated look, and feel, to the aesthetic.
Custom, upholstered velvet headboards and bespoke built-ins are features throughout the elegant bedrooms, making best use of space, light and adding a uniformity to the rooms. The furniture is all bespoke from Ventura, designed, made-to-order and installed to the client’s requirements.
