A modern epitome, this luxurious Portuguese villa simply captivated our imaginations. Our brief was to marry a beautiful, classic contemporary interior design scheme with an innovative, architecturally forward new build home.
Set in The Algarve, the beautiful region along the coast of the Western Atlantic on the southernmost tip of Portugal, the house is part of an exclusive gated community and surrounded by sandy cove beaches, golf resorts and rugged interior wilderness.
With a design palette of glass, slate, marble and concrete, and all sleek modern conveniences, this house is lustrous to its core. Working with our clients, we created a sophisticated, elegant and comfortable interior in this modern property.
We were commissioned to design and complete to a turn-key finish, the interiors of this high-spec house. With five bedrooms set over three floors and covering 4000 square metres, we balanced a modern home with contemporary living, and naturally framed all our design work on the exquisite 360 degree vistas.
At ground floor level, the compelling white plaster columns and architectural features set the theme. The focus on glass carries internally to the impressive entrance hall, a double height room with sleek glass banisters wrapping the stairwell. We chose a large, clustered gold and glass chandelier to drop from a height, and clean-line furniture from the Ventura collection to ensure focus remains on the views.
This area expands into a large, modern open kitchen dining area. A sleek, flat panelled kitchen is designed seamlessly, with the dining area and island seating offering beautiful views. We dressed this space with luxurious furniture and elegant lighting, to create a softer atmosphere for living. In the large sitting area, a bespoke, corner sofa offers casual seating around a large, custom designed media and storage joinery, creating a warm and calm living area, overlooking the terrace and garden.
The “wow” factor continues into the lower ground floor level, an expansive retreat catering for adult and family leisure.
A sleek new bar with velvet bar stools, low level lighting and custom joinery is perfect for entertaining at cocktail hour. Detailing in the bar joinery, in wood, metal and glass, which is built into the area under the stairwell, includes ample chilled and room temperature wine storage and all requirements for mixology and cocktail making.
There is a large cinema lounge with two mirroring corner sofas providing for ample seating for watching TV, movies and sports. This space includes a snooker table and golf simulator.
The beautiful master suite is on the first floor and is impressively designed with a bespoke framed headboard, recessed mirrors and modern wall sconces. A chic bench lies at the base of the bed to enjoy the views overlooking the mountains.
Our final act in completing the project was our interior styling and accessory selections, dressing all rooms. It was our pleasure to work internationally on this beautiful modern home.
